VCSY Announces Roll Out of New Globalfare.com Travel Site

LOS ANGELES, CA., January 22, 2001 - Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VCSY), today announced the achievement of a series of scheduled milestones, initiatives and site developments for the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary Globalfare.com, Inc. Globalfare is dedicated to providing the largest selection of discounted travel products for the online traveler.

Globalfare's newly structured website has seen the incorporation of a host of new user-friendly features, including an integrated consolidator and "published fares" online booking engine for air, hotel and car rentals. Globalfare is continuing to develop its GlobalShopper travel features utilizing the powerful search engine capabilities of Emily™, VCSY's powerful proprietary XML-based suite of software solutions. GlobalShopper accepts a customer request for fare comparisons and simultaneously searches both published and discount fare databases worldwide, thus eliminating the time and frustration of visiting a number of different travel websites. The site is expanding to offer many other travel-friendly services such as free e-mail, an up-to-the-minute travel bulletin board and an online personal organizer designed for travelers.

Year 2000 saw a number of other exciting acquisitions and partnerships for Globalfare:
